I just watched "Rio". They kept saying cheese and sprinkles. "It's a Minnesota thing." I have lived my entire life in Minnesota. I have no idea what it means. Can someone enlighten me?

Nope. I'm 48 years old and it is news to me. I've lived in Minnetonka, St.Paul, St.Cloud, and Pequot lakes. I've traveled from Austin to Arrowhead Ortonville to Stillwater, and I have never heard that one!

  I think the one person form Minnesota they had on the movie crew said it at least four or five times becouse I have never herd it and like you I live here to.

Hi all,

I just watched Rio.
There's this joke about cheese and sprinkles.

I don't get it at all.
What exactly is that about?
Some kind of delicacy in Minnesota?

Btw, I'm not from Minnesota, or the US, for that matter :)

I think its some type of saying, i couldn't find it any where though.....

I'm from Minnesota. I'm actually from Moose Lake, MN which is featured in the movie, and I've never heard of cheese and sprinkles. I've talked to a lot of other people from around here, and none of us have ever heard of it.

Lived in MN my whole life and I'd never heard the phrase before. I think somebody made it up because they thought it was corny.

치즈는 아는 것이고...
sprinkes 이 문젠데...구글 번역에 나왔다.

[보통 pl.] (쿠키 등에) 잘게 뿌려진 초콜릿·설탕

그 모양은?

결국 던킨 도너츠 같은 것 사먹을 때 위에 뿌려진 그것이란 건데...
문장의 쓰임새가 달라서 아무래도 앞의 Cheese and sprinkles위 뒤의 그것을 달리 번역해야할 것같다.
